1. Army Educational Outreach Program Internship
What do cutting edge research, state-of-the-art laboratory facilities and unparalleled access to professional scientists and engineers have in common? The AEOP High School Internship. Spend your summer in a university research lab or in one of the U.S. Army Research Laboratories and Centers through this unique internship opportunity. You will experience firsthand the innovation and research that is driving the future of our country. Do something meaningful this summer to prepare you for competitive college admissions and the next step in your STEM journey. 2. IMET Undergraduate Summer Internship
IMET and the University System of Maryland are committed to creating opportunities for a diverse body of undergraduates to enable and encourage students from underrepresented backgrounds to continue on to higher degrees and careers in marine and environmental science. To promote this we are offering paid summer undergraduate internships that include a nine-week research project in environmental, estuarine and marine sciences.

3. L.A. Times High School Internship
Each summer, the L.A. Times High School Insider hosts a paid internship full of immersive professional learning opportunities. Young journalists from across Southern California experience the day-to-day life of a professional journalist. The program aims to teach students core journalism fundamentals and multimedia skills while exposing them to a professional work environment and mentorship at the Times.

4. Genomics Research Internship Program at Stanford (GRIPS)
GRIPS is a twenty hour, eight week long research intensive experience for high school students. Program participants will be placed in a research laboratory for the summer and conduct genomics research under the supervision of a lab mentor. The summer 2025 program will start on June 16 and end on August 7, 2025. Students in GRIPS must commit to participating for the entire duration of the program. This experience will be four hours per day, five days per week, for the entire internship period. The typical schedule is 9am - 1pm, Monday through Friday. While the main focus of the program is an immersive research experience, GRIPS students will also be expected to participate in all other program activities such as: Weekly required sessions with all members of the cohort Panels and seminars on career paths in biomedical research Regular check in meetings with your research mentor
